Hello and welcome! My name is Shelley Merk and I am the owner of Dark Fey Arts. I work from a little studio space in my home, located in Elgin Illinois. I make or source out my products to keep with the dark fey theme.
I am a wife, mother, teacher, student (currently in classes), neurodivergent, musician, hobbyist writer, and professional napper. My loving and creative husband Dave and I have two incredible little boys named Korbyn and Tristan, two cuddly pups named Pixie and Leia, and a silly orange boy kitty named Pumpkin. I would say I keep myself busy!
Dark Fey Arts came about after a business rename to focus more on fairies, mermaids, fauns, centaurs, and any diverse species of fey inspires my creative drive. Due to the busy joyful times dedicated to my family, I tend to attend live shows and festivals close to home. I would love to hear from any curators of events who feel my creations would be a wonderful fit for your theme! I have had some of the most fun creating creatures inspired by children's art, bring their sketches to life with a 3D posable doll.
